The delightful fusion of hilsa’s rich flavor and the bold kick of mustard has skyrocketed this recipe to popularity among Bengali food lovers.

In the era of British colonial rule, this dish became a beloved choice among the zamindars and the elite class of Bengal. This recipe embodies the essence of Bengali hospitality, showcasing warmth and tradition in every bite.

Some decorate the dish with the creamy richness of coconut milk, while others enhance the flavor profile by incorporating poppy seeds during cooking. 1. Add the mustard paste and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
